AS SEEN ON BT – We’ve created our own thirst quenchers using homegrown fruit. Your children will love helping you make their favourite juice.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Makes about 4 cups (1 L)
4 cups (1 L) peeled, cubed Ontario Muskmelon or Ontario Watermelon
or Strawberries or Raspberries
1-1/2 cup (375 mL) cold water (approx.)
2 tbsp (25 mL) fresh lime juice (approx.)
1 tbsp (15 mL) granulated sugar (approx.)
In food processor, place muskmelon and water; purée. Place sieve over large bowl. Using back of ladle and pressing in circular motion, press fruit through sieve.
Stir in lime juice and sugar. Add a bit more water if mixture is too thick (it should be thin, not thick like a smoothie). Taste and add additional lime juice or sugar if needed. Refrigerate and serve very cold.
Tip: Add icy grapes to keep your juice cold and enjoy the grapes after the drink is gone. The perfect snack.
